The Danger of Liberalism

Jefferson, OH (Wisdom4Today) Our nation has changed dramatically since her founding and this election cycle promises even more change. Unfortunately, the change that is promised by liberalism is nothing new. It has been tried before and the results have proven be to disastrous. Out founders foresaw this age knew this when they wrote our constitution because they knew how power has the ability to corrupt when it is in the hands of a small group of people. This is why they addressed this in Article 4, Section 4 of the US Constitution:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."(Emphasis mine) Source: http://www.findlaw.com/casecode/constitution/

What modern day liberalism is proposing is nothing less than an overthrow of the US Constitution. Sadly, if more people actually read the Constitution instead of listening to Marxists who tell them what the Constitution means, we would be a whole lot better off. Jesus, when tempted to ignore government mandates to pay taxes, said: "Show me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's. And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's." (Luke 20:24-25) The problem with liberalism is that it is not satisfied with the "things which be Caesar's"; they also want the "things which are God's." By this I mean that when government centralizes power and financial resources away from the control of the people, then churches suffer in their ability to provide for the needs of the truly needy.

Many church members admit that they are financially strapped and would like to do more to support the church in ministering to those whom are in need. At the same time, it disgusts them to see the money that is wasted by the federal government on programs that are abused through fraud. The sad part is that many fine people donate their time and efforts to ministering to others, but are severely hampered by lack of funds. If you examine the basis of focus of liberalism, you will find the following:

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. (IN OTHER WORDS, LOSS OF PROPERTY RIGHTS)

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. (IN OTHER WORDS, A PROGRESSIVE TAX SYSTEM)

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance. (IN OTHER WORDS, A DEATH TAX)

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. (IN OTHER WORDS, SEIZING OF LAND THROUGH IMMINENT DOMAIN BEYOND PUBLIC WORKS)

5. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly. (DO I EVEN NEED TO POINT THIS ONE OUT? HINT: 700 BILLION DOLLARS)

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state. (IN OTHER WORDS, THE FCC and "FAIRNESS" DOCTRINE)

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state. (IN OTHER WORDS, GOVERNMENT BUYOUTS OF BUSINESS AND GIVING LABOR UNIONS POWER OVER THE BUSINESS OWNERS); the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan (IN OTHER WORDS, FARM SUBSIDIES AND AGRICULTURAL COMMERCE REGULATION).

8. Equal obligation of all to work. (IN OTHER WORDS, TO PAY TAXES AND DISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH) Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture. (UNDOCUMENTED MIGRANT WORKERS DRIVING DOWN THE WAGES FOR LEGAL MIGRANT AND NON-MIGRANT WORKERS)

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country. (IN OTHER WORDS, SPREADING THE WEALTH AROUND THROUGH CENTRALIZED FEDERAL POWER TO TAX PROGRESSIVELY)

10. Free education for all children in public schools. (IN OTHER WORDS, BUT NOT IN NON-GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS) Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. (OKAY, I ADMIT, THIS ONE IS NOT BAD) Combination of education with industrial production, etc. (IN OTHER WORDS CREATING A "RIGHT" TO HIGHER EDUCATION)

Some may disagree with my interpretation of "in other words", but before you criticize my assessment of these points, first ask yourself who came up with these "progressive" ideas. Your answer can be found in the Communist Manifesto written by none other than Karl Marx. You can read it yourself at http://www.anu.edu.au/polsci/marx/classics/manifesto.html . When you are done reading ask yourself why would those who subscribe to liberalism would put forth an agenda that Karl Marx proposed for the overthrow of Democracy and Capitalism? Then ask yourself if Communism has a history of preserving the rights of the people to be self governing? When you are done, explain to those of us who believe that the founders had it right by writing Article 4, Section 4, how your version of "change" is not dangerous and going to lead to the betterment of us all.
